Varsity Head Coach
Andrew
Yamashiro
This is Coach Andrew's
third year at Perry High School. Andrew is also
the head coach at Chandler Gilbert Community College and has 13 years of
High School and Club coaching experience. Andrew is the assistant director
and a coach at Aspire Volleyball Club. Previously, he was the Head Coach
at Crimson High School, before that he was at Mountain Pointe High School
and Higley High School where he won a state championship in 2018 and was a
runner-up state finalist while at Mountain Pointe. Andrew also coached at
the NAIA level with Benedictine University. Benedictine was NAIA National
Runner-Up in 2018 and won the National Championship in 2019. As a player,
Andrew prepped at Hamilton High School before playing at Arizona State
University on the club team for one season.

JV Head Coach
Kale Rubin
Coach Kale started his coaching career right after high school for Aspire
boys club in 2018 and Club One girls in 2019. Worked mostly with 16 & 17
year old boys and girls. This is his fourth year coaching at Perry and 2nd
year as Head JV Coach. Kale has also been Head Freshman coach for Perry
boys volleyball the last four years. Kale played 2 years at Molten as a
setter but finished off his junior and senior year at Aspire as a libero.
Kale also played 4 years at Perry high school with 3 of those years on
Varsity. Kale then went on to play at Park University Gilbert as the
starting libero for the next three years getting his bachelor’s degree in
Fitness and Wellness. Kale currently holds 3 records at Park with total
career digs, digs per set and most digs in a match. He was also awarded
two-time Cal-Pac defender of the week while nominated once for NAIA
defender of the week. He has played with the professional Arizona men’s
volleyball team, Ascension since August 2022 to present day mainly as a
libero and sometimes as a setter. Outside of coaching, Kale enjoys
spending time with his family and friends and competing in sand and indoor
tournaments.

Freshman Head Coach
Joanna Murella
Joanna started playing volleyball in 6th grade, and continued throughout
all 4 years of high school. Jo played a key role on her team as both an
outside hitter and libero, winning back-to-back State Championships at
Lincoln Preparatory Academy. She was named to the 2018 CAA All-State Team,
and was named team MVP twice. After high school, Joanna continued playing
volleyball on the ASU Women’s Club team. She began coaching in 2019, and
has previously coached at Lincoln Prep, Arizona College Prep, and multiple
small clubs in the valley. This is her eigth year coaching, and her
third season coaching at Perry.

Alexis Keith
Coach
Lexi played club volleyball in the valley from the 13s through 18s and was
a standout player at both Campo Verde and Perry High School. She earned
numerous district, regional, and academic awards, helping Perry reach its
first-ever state semifinal during her senior year. In 2017, Alexis was
named to the All-Arizona Girls Volleyball Team and was one of the
finalists for Arizona Volleyball Player of the Year. She continued her
volleyball career at Eastern Washington University and the University of
the Pacific before medically retiring due to a knee injury. Coach Lexi
currently coaches at Club One Volleyball and has been coaching at Perry
for the last 6 years.

Noel
Wolman
Coach Noel played Varsity for all four years at Liberty High School,
earning the Varsity MVP title each season. In 2011, she was honored as a
member of the All Arizona Team and named 1st Team All State. That year,
she also received recognition as the West Valley Preps Player of the Year
and 1st Team All Section. Other high school accolades include 2nd Team All
State in 2010 and Region Player of the Year. In 2009 Noel was selected to
2nd Team All State and Region Player of the Year and named the MaxPreps
AVCA Arizona Player of the Week. After high school, she continued my
volleyball journey at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, where she was part
of the 2014 Pacific West Conference Championship team. Her collegiate
career also included reaching the NCAA Division II National Championship
as the runner-up in 2013 and winning multiple conference titles during her
time at BYU-Hawaii. Noel was recently inducted into Liberty High School
Inaugural Athlete Hall of Fame. She has coached club in Hawaii, Utah,
California, Colorado and high school in Arizona, currently at Perry High
School. She loves competing and helping athletes get better every time
they step on the court!
